Commanded by Lieutenant (j.g.) John F. Kennedy in the Solomon Islands during 1943, the 80-foot Elco motor torpedo boat PT-109 operated in the dangerous waters of Blackett Strait with a specialized, tight-knit crew of officers and enlisted motor machinist mates, gunners, and radiomen. At an imposing 1/32 scale, this dedicated 10-figure standalone upgrade collection captures realistic physical anatomy, natural fabric folds, dynamic battle-station postures, and authentic tropical combat gear of wartime operational records with flawless anatomical clarity, making it an indispensable asset for discerning maritime shipwrights anchoring their veteran coastal patrol representations.

Sculptural Precision and Wartime Operational Fidelity

At a commanding 1/32 scale, crew figures step completely out of the background to become the central storytelling anchor of the entire vessel, exposing every millimeter of facial expression, kapok life vest seams, web belt holsters, watch caps, dungaree folds, and deck shoe soles to close visual-spatial inspection. This 10-piece crew collection captures the intense, high-stakes atmosphere of South Pacific patrol boat warfare with exquisite clarity, completely eliminating the stiff "toy soldier" anatomy, flat faces, thick non-scale gear moldings, and tedious seam line cleanup typical of standard factory injection-molded plastic kit figures or soft white metal castings. Positioned across the helm console, 20mm Oerlikon gun tubs, twin .50-caliber machine gun turrets, and deck walk-ways of your 1/32 scale build, each figure features true-to-scale physical proportions, creating realistic physical shadow lines and deep visual relief that basic kit placeholders cannot match.

Museum-Quality Anatomical Sculpting: Developed using archival wartime photography of the PT-109 crew, historical U.S. Navy uniform regulations, and period equipment manuals to reproduce realistic anatomical proportions, relaxed yet alert combat poses, and authentic gear arrangements.

Complete 10-Figure Operational Complement: Packaged as a comprehensive 10-figure set portraying a full deck watch and combat action station, including officers, lookouts, helmsmen, gunners, and loaders to fully bring an 80-foot Elco boat to life.

Diverse Action & Watch Poses: Features a realistic assortment of positions specifically configured for an active patrol craft:

Command & Navigation: Skipper observing through binoculars and officer conferring at the chart table/cockpit.

Helm Control: Helmsman poised with hands positioned for the steering wheel and throttle levers.

Combat Action & Ammunition Handling: Gunners manning the twin .50-cal mounts and 20mm Oerlikon, alongside crewmen passing ammunition drums and readying ordnance.

Deck Patrol & Watch Standing: Crew members in natural standing, walking along narrow side decks, and seated rest poses on deck lockers.

Authentic South Pacific Uniform Details: Faithfully depicts the informal tropical attire typical of PT boat crews in the Solomon Islands, including rolled-sleeve chambray work shirts, denim dungarees, USN M1 helmets, watch caps, officer visor caps, Kapok life vests, web belts with Colt M1911 holsters, and heavy-traction deck shoes.

Streamlined Deck Integration: Features natural foot stances and seated postures designed to mate cleanly onto standard 1/32 scale deck planking, gun mounts, cockpit stools, and companionway ladders, drastically reducing assembly friction and streamlining installation.

Intelligent Hollowed Engineering: Expertly designed in High Detail Resin Grey with an optimized, lightweight internal mass distribution.
